Like millions of Americans, you might have shared a bottle of wine with your significant other on Valentine's Day last week.
But because you're not a Duggar (we assume) your massive social media following probably didn't freak the eff out over it.
Oh yes. Your eyes do not deceive you. That's a photo of Derick Dillard that Jill Duggar posted on her Instagram account.
“My hubby is the best,” she captioned the pic.
SIDE NOTE: A lot of people dispute this.
Jill goes on: “He totally turned our house into a steakhouse, serving me a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner last night! #besthubby"
"@derickdillard I love you babe!”
Nothing scandalous about that, correct? Well, normally there wouldn't be, but the Duggars have strict rules about ... well, everything.
One of the many, many things that's strictly forbidden in the family is for them to consume alcohol under any circumstances.
Naturally, fans love catching Jim Bob and Michelle's offspring breaking the insane code of conduct they were raised under.
It's far from surprising, then, that they zeroed right in on that bottle in Derick's hand in this romantic Valentine's Day shot.
Is it really booze he and Jill are enjoying? Or some sort of sparkling cider, like you'd drink at a middle school dance?
It's tough to say, but the Duggars aren't talking.
Their silence has convinced many members of Duggar Nation that Jill and Derick have been caught secretly sampling Satan's bubbly.
Whatever the case, Jill and Derick really can't catch a break these days, and a lot of that can be chalked up to his own doing.
Ever since Derick got fired by TLC for harassing a fellow network star on Twitter, Duggar fans have been watching their every move.
You might think it would be a good time for the Dillards to simply keep a low profile, but unfortunately, they don't really have that option.
Especially because throughout their adult lives, Jill and Derick have supported themselves with monetary donations from Duggar fans.
Now that they no longer have those sweet reality TV dollars pouring in, those donations are their only means of supporting themselves.
Talk about a rock and a hard place, are we right?
As such, Jill and Derick have no choice but to continue engaging with fans, who in turn scrutinize them with unprecedented aplomb.
Being accused of totally normal activities that her fundamentalist parents have arbitrarily decided will earn you a one-way ticket to hell?
Guess that's just the price they must pay.
