Bobbi Kristina Brown fell into a coma on January 31, 2015.
So today marks the sad anniversary of Bobby Brown effectively losing the only child he had with Whitney Houston.
It also marks the sad anniversary of Nick Gordon effectively losing the young women he has said he loved ever so dearly, despite the awkward fact that Gordon was actually found liable in Brown's death.
In circumstances eerily similar to the way in which her famous mother died, Brown was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Georgia home in January 2015.
She never regained consciousness and was declared dead in July of that year.
Bobbi Kristina Brown was only 22 at the time.
Just a month after her passing, Brown's estate filed a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit against Gordon, Bobbi's controversial longtime live-in partner.
The two were engaged in a roller coaster relationship at the time of Brown's death and many believed that Gordon contributed significantly to the drug problem that eventually took Bobbi's life.
In her filing, Bobbi Kristina’s conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, alleged that “Ms. Brown died due to a violent altercation with Gordon."
According to the estate, Gordon actually placed Bobbi in a bathtub, unconscious, after he attacked her and injected her with a toxic mixture of chemicals.
A court agreed in September that Gordon was responsible for Bobbi's death.
Gordon, of course, has vehemently maintained his innocence over the last two years.
And on this tragic occasion of Brown passing out for good, Nick has shared a new social message and two new photos of himself and his late ex-girlfriend.
“You're the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing I think about before I go to sleep,” Gordon captioned the January 30 post, which included a couple snapshots of himself and Bobbi.
“I love&missyou RIH my angel."
Bobby Brown also paid tribute to his dead daughter last week by wearing a jacket with her photo on the back and the inscription that read:
“My Angel in Heaven.”
Gordon was actually raised by Houston from the age of 12 on after her good friend, Michelle Gordon, determined she could no longer care for her son.
The artist never formally adopted Nick.
Through the years, he and Bobbi Kristina referred to each other as brother and sister... prior to starting a romantic relationship with each other following Houston’s tragic 2012 death.
The young couple even took to Instagram in January of 2014 to declare that they had gotten married, referring to each other as husband and wife on social media.
However, once the investigation into Bobbi Kristina’s hospitalization got underway, an attorney for the Brown family said in a February 2015 that “Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon.”
It was always very confusing.
And now it's become very expensive of Gordon.
A judge has ordered that he must pay $36 million in damages to Brown's estate.
Based on his financial situation, no one should expect him to fork over this insane amount of cash any time soon.
