On Teen Mom OG Season 3 Episode 12, Amber Portwood and Matt Baier invited his son Chris to live with them in an effort to help with his sobriety.
Given the fallout from that, did they make the right call?
Meanwhile, Farrah Abraham took on a new business venture. And Sophia's grandparents. Dealing with both proved to be easier said than done ...
If you watch Teen Mom OG online, you know that Farrah has beef with her mom (like she has with most people) on a very regular basis.
Well, Teen Mom OG Season 3 Episode 12 deviated from that somewhat as Farrah took Sophia to spend time with her paternal grandparents.
Sophia's dad, Derek Underwood, died before she was born.
Derek's dad, Jerry, solemnly but proudly showed Sophia the sign on the highway they had named after him in the wake of his fatal car crash.
Farrah told Derek's family about her plans to open a furniture store and children’s boutique, and they expressed that they're proud of her.
Still, they hope that Farrah and Soph won't forget Derek.
In Tennessee, Maci and Taylor met up with her grandparents, Jack and Joyce, for dinner ... and to ask him if he'd officiate their wedding!
“I’d be honored,” he told her. And who wouldn't be!?
Ryan Edwards, meanwhile, wasn't exactly planning vows, but he is dating a girl named Mackenzie, who could be a terrific influence.
For one, she urged him to make up with his dad.
Ry and his pops have been feuding for weeks after he got kicked out of the house, following years of sort of being a freeloading deadbeat ...
Impressively, Ryan took her advice and went to have a heart to heart with parents on a day that the cameras wouldn’t tag along, no less.
Edwards' mom went to Maci’s bridal shower and relayed the news that he and his father buried the hatchet, which we're very glad to hear.
In Indiana, Amber Portwood’s fiancé, Matt Baier, could relate in a sense, as he's working on putting old grudges aside with his son as well.
Chris Baier and Matt had been estranged for 10 years before the addict sought a place to live with Amber Portwood and her older fiance.
So far, so good with these two (and on MTV's Matt Baier Image Rehabilitation Campaign); Chris is even going to meet Amber’s daughter, Leah.
Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell, meanwhile, have not seen their original daughter, Carly, that year, sparking concerns for the future.
Long story short: Ty and Cate gave up any control.
Carly's adoptive parents hadn’t seemed super enthused about letting them visit, so Ty began to worry that this would become the norm.
They met with their adoption counselor who reviewed the agreement they signed, indicating that Tyler and Cate could initiate visits.
The adoptive parents could veto them, however.
Clearly, Catelynn and Tyler were sad about this, and despite the fact that “I was 16 years old" as Cate vented, they had little recourse.
Not the best first anniversary wedding gift.
Fortunately, they celebrated together and put their troubles behind them for a while as they let this latest challenge sink in for a while.
“Hopefully we’ll have another little ball of terror on the way,” Tyler said when she mused what their second anniversary might look like.
“Whoa!” Catelynn said, summing it all up.
She goes to rehab, they lament the fact that they can't see their first daughter, and now all of a sudden they're planning another kid?
That's burying the lead right there!
