Dancing with the Stars Recap: Top Six Go All Out ... Who Will Survive?

by at .

The top six gave it their all on Dancing With the Stars Monday night, as the margin for error dwindles and the competition gets steeper.

Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez came in as the front runner, with James Hinchcliffe making a push in recent weeks as well.

Jana on DWTS

Would those two continue to hold off Marilu Henner, Jana Kramer, Calvin Johnson and Terra Jole as the season winds down?

Let's break down the performances...

Marilu Henner & Derek Hough

Marilu & Derek performed to "December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night)" from Jersey Boys. There was a lot riding on their performance tonight after some missteps in previous weeks. it was clear they took the criticism on board, but was it enough to wow the judges?

Score: 36/40!

Calvin Johnson Jr. & Lindsay Arnold

This duo performed to "Memory" from Cats. It was one of the most memorable performances of the season and the judges seemed to think so, too. They didn't think it was one of their best performances, but the changes from the prior week were like night and day.

Score: 37/40!

James Hinchcliffe and Jenna Johnson

This duo jazzed away to "A Brand New Day" from The Wiz. Sharna was still out of the equation and it's unclear whether she will be able to return.  James botched a step at the beginning and it kind of ruined the rest of the performance.

Score: 36/40!

Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber

This duo went with "If My Friends Could See Me Now" from Sweet Charity. The couple managed to give some new moves to the judges after the Beetlejuice number and it paid off in a big way.

Score: 38/40!

Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko

This duo performed to "She Used to Be Mine" from Waitress. This was their time to shine and boy did they deliver. The judges were floored by such a solid performance and it gave them a perfect score.

Score: 40/40!

Valentin Chmerkovskiy

Laurie Hernandez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy

This duo performed "Cell Block Tango" from Chicago. It was up there as one of their best performances to date and solidified why they have a good chance of winning the whole thing.

Score: 40/40!

In the Team Up challenge, James and Jenna paired up with Calvin and Lindsay.  It was a surprisingly good performance, but you could see the flaws with it.

Score: 37/40!

Meanwhile, Marilu and Derek paired up with Terra and Sasha. It was another rock-solid performance, but ti just wasn't on the same level as the one that came before, or after it.

Score: 36/40!

Jana and Gleb went with Laurie and Val and they did not disappoint. It was another perfect score for them!

Score: 40/40!

When that was all said and done, Marilu and Derek took their final bow and left the competition!

We're now approaching the semi-finals and we cannot wait to find out who wins!

Dancing with the Stars Quotes

We should have started dancing with one arm waaay before.

Cristian de la Fuente [following his injury, trip to the hospital and subsequent stellar performance]

I am not the best dancer, and I have not been the best dancer from the beginning. I am happy we made it this far.
