There is nothing cuter than a child snuggling up to their mother, as Suri Cruise has demonstrated.
Cruise was one of the guests at her maternal grandmother’s surprise birthday party, put on by Katie Holmes.
The ten-year-old danced with another guest, hid behind a wall to surprise her grandmother, then zonked out in Holmes’ arms at the end of the night.
Holmes was asked last week if Suri takes fashion cues from the Dawson’s Creek star.
"No, absolutely not," Holmes told Us Weekly on September 7th at a Cartier Fashion Week event in New York.
"She has her own [sense of style]."
Back in 2014, Holmes told Glamour how important her family was to her, especially after having gone through a divorce from Tom Cruise two years prior.
"My family has been so crucial to my outlook on life. I started acting at 17 and had success at an early age, where all of a sudden people knew who I was," Holmes explained.
"But my parents always treated me the exact same way at home and reminded me of gratitude. And that’s been a grounding force."
As for being a mom, Holmes has reveled in it since the beginning.
"I am really focused on motherhood and work right now," Holmes said at the time.
"Motherhood is the greatest gift. When I became a mother, my life completely changed."
Yeah, her marriage to Cruise was a source of mockery ever since they started dating in 2005, but Suri came out of that relationship, and that’s all that matters to Holmes.
The biggest change, Holmes told the magazine, hit her like a ton of bricks.
"I think you don’t know—I didn’t know how much love I had in me. It’s overwhelming," she said.
"Every day I discover more about this spectacular human being I get to be the mother of."
Per usual, Holmes is the source of tabloid fodder, even though she and Cruise haven’t been married for a few years.
This time, it’s because her relationship with Jamie Foxx hasn’t gone public due to a contract she signed in 2012.
According to Radar Online, Holmes is not allowed to publicly date anyone or bring a man near Suri until 2017.
“Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself," a source told Radar.
“Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce," a source told Radar.
“She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri,”
Something tells me Holmes has a calendar counting down the days until 2017…
