We hate to say it, but the tabloids got it right for once this month.
Just several days before Angelina Jolie filed to divorce Brad Pitt, In Touch Weekly actually predicted the dissolution of this famous union.
We're as shocked as you are. But you know that saying about a broken clock, right? And how many times per day it's accurate?
The recent cover story, as well as a similar OK! Weekly cover story, was only half right, however.
As you can see below, both magazines estimated that $400 million would be at stake between the actor and the actress once they split.
We're not certain where the tabloids got this figure from, however.
(NOTE: This is not the first time we've wondered where a tabloid has gotten its information.)
Jolie and Pitt have been a couple since 2003 or 2004 (it's not exactly clear, but that's an entirely different matter. We're not going into it now), but they've only been married since 2014.
According to the video shared at the outset of this article, Pitt and Jolie have made $117.5 million between them in their two years as husband and wife.
That's not very close to $400 million.
Moreover, Jolie is not asking for spousal support.
We don't know at the moment just how Pitt and Jolie plan to divide their assets, from homes to cars and everything in between.
But the main focus right now is clearly on the former couple's six kids.
Jolie believes that Pitt has been acting as an irresponsible parent and is seeking sole physical custody of the children, who are:
Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 15, Pax Jolie-Pitt, 12, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 11, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 10, and twins Knox Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 8.
We hear that Pitt is going to fight for joint custody and it's not hard to see an ugly battle about to get underway between the stars.
“I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids,” Pitt said in a statement yesterday, adding:
"I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
As for the other half of this stunning split?
"Angelina will always do what's in the best interest of taking care of her family," Geyer Kosinski, Jolie's longtime manager, told E! News in an exclusive statement Tuesday.
"She appreciates everyone's understanding of their need for privacy at this time."
In court documents obtained by the Internet, Jolie listed the date of her separation as September 15, 2016 and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the basis for her divorce.
Endless rumors have been circulating ever since over just what she is referring to.
Did Pitt smoke too much weed around his children? Did he have an affair with Marion Cotillard? Did Selena Gomez play a role in the breakup?
Yes, some people are saying that Selena Gomez played a role in the Brangelina breakup?
We've reached that point in the speculation game already. And it's only been one day since the news went viral.
Strap in, folks. It's about to get really crazy.
