When given the opportunity to procreate with this man, always say yes.
"Well, you know, those are the coolest little things in the world," Somerhalder told Entertainment Tonight about babies.
"Standby," he added.
In October, Life & Style decided to stir the pot by claiming Reed, 27, wasn't ready to have kids.
[He] has really been pushing Nikki to start a family," a source claimed.
"She feels she's just not ready yet, and that's put a tremendous strain on their marriage.
"She wants to focus on her work for animal rights causes. Ian supports her, but he thinks it's the right time for a baby."
Anyhoo, let's talk TVD!
Somerhalder touched on season 7 of the CW series, and how taking a turn in the director's seat has made his schedule a full one.
"I'm going to be editing my episode all night, and that's just kind of my main focus right now," the Louisiana native said.
"Other than that, I'm just hanging with my wife [Nikki Reed] and my babies -- our babies, all these furry creatures that we have."
Between them, he and Reed have nine pets, but "can't wait" start working on making real babies.
They are practicing, he said with that dead-sexy Damon attitude.
As for the series, while fans would like it to last forever, all good things must come to and end. Someday.
"It's something that everyone is talking about and there is a lot of speculation about it because we're so far into it," Somerhalder revealed.
"I'll be honest with you, right now we're just trying to get through this one and just make this a really, really good season of television."
The Vampire Diaries airs Friday at 8pm on The CW.
