Taylor Swift is at it again.
Being totally and completely awesome, that is, although this time in very sad circumstances.
A few days prior to December 25, Swift decided to give a young cancer patient the early Christmas gift of a lifetime, showing up to surprise a fan named Delaney Clements.
Ever since being sadly diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2010, Delaney has developed a large following on social media, with thousands sharing the hashtag “#DelaneyMeetTaylor” in order to snare the Grammy winner's attention.
Recently, however, Delaney’s condition has taken a turn for the worse and her mom told Facebook followers that her daughter would soon be headed to hospice care.
But not before Swift came by to pay her a visit at home.
"Literally speechless right now!!!!! My new best friend (as I call her now ) made a special stop from going home to Tennessee and surprised me and gave me the best present/ hugg ever!!" Delaney wrote on Instagram Saturday afternoon while posing for a photo.
"Thank you !! I love you!! Happy holidays!!"
Swift, of course, has made it a habit to spend time with fans in similarly tragic situations.
She met a cancer patient backstage at a show in Atlanta this October... she stopped by Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence last spring... and she donated $50,000 to help a sick young girl in July.
We wish, of course, that these kids were not faced with this horrible disease and we wish they did not need the sort of morale boost that Taylor Swift can be provide.
But we remain in awe of Swift for taking the time to provide it when need be.
