Back in April, the Duggar family announced the fast-developing and exciting news of Marjorie Jackson and Josiah Duggar courting.
It didn't last, which is almost unheard of in the Duggars' world ... and now they may be paying a hefty price for whatever happened.
This was a huge deal, as in the Duggars' lifestyle, courting is a lot more serious than dating, and seen as a "pre-engagement" period.
Virtually always, this ends in marriage, as Marjorie and Josiah explained in an odd video from the early days of their romance (below).
Of course, that was a simpler time in Josiah's life, and mere weeks later, the Josh Duggar sex scandal shook the family to its core.
Marjorie and Josiah broke up not long after news that Josh molested five young women - including his own sisters - went public.
Coincidence? No one has elaborated, so it's hard to know.
Both parties have laid low since, and Josiah even went so far as to delete all evidence of their relationship from his social media pages.
We think it's fairly safe to say that things ended badly.
What specifically caused the courtship to end? Again, it's unclear, but Radar reports that the Duggars are deeply concerned about one thing:
Apparently, Marjorie will be returning to public life! Soon!
The author of a popular blog for Christian teens, Jackson, after several months off the grid, recently promised her fans that she'll be back.
"Forgive my disappearance from the blogging world for the past (one, two…) THREE months! And without warning too," Marjorie wrote.
Noting that she will explain in detail soon, Jackson adds, "Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve posted. I haven’t forgotten about the blog!"
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar likely hoped that she had.
Obviously, a lot has happened in Marjorie's life during her time off, and the Duggars are reportedly terrified of what she might reveal.
We know what kind of a person Josh is, but when it comes to the things that go on behind closed doors, the Duggars close ranks.
Does Marj really have the cojones to sell them out publicly?!
Most likely, she (or her family) got cold feet about marrying into a group that spawned Josh Duggar, and pulled the plug on courting.
This is the simplest explanation and would make the most sense; Josiah personally ruining things in matter of weeks feels unlikely.
With Jinger Duggar and Lawson Bates (below) courting, you may see the pattern return to normal, but Jackson must've been blindsided.
In any case, here's hoping for a Duggar compound expose.
Danica Dillon had plenty to say about Josh treating her like a rag doll after forking over $1,500, but that could be just the beginning.
