Fourteen months after a fatal highway accident took the life of a close friend and left him fighting for his own life, Tracy Morgan married his long-time fiancée Megan Wollover in an intimate and emotional ceremony Sunday night.
"After almost losing Tracy last year, I am so grateful to finally be married to the love of my life," Wollover told People Magazine soon after her nuptials.
"We have been through so much and our love is stronger for it."
On June 7, 2014, a truck driven by a Walmart employee crashed into a limousine carrying Morgan and a few friends on the New Jersey Turnpike.
As a result of the injuries he suffered, Morgan had to learn how to stand, sit and walk again. It was a long, painful road to recovery.
But he told People this summer that his pending marriage to Wollover served as motivation:
"I don't want to walk my wife down the aisle with a cane or in a wheelchair. So I had to go hard with the therapy … I had to get better. There was no ifs, ands or buts about it."
On a professional level, Morgan will return to the Saturday Night Live stage as host on October 17.
We send the newlyweds our very best wishes!
