One Direction is set to go in four different directions.
As previously reported, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne will release their fifth studio album some time in the next few months... and then go on an extended hiatus in March.
The handsome singers don't plan on making music or touring together for at least a year afterward, causing fans around the world to fear the worst:
Could this hiatus actually be a break-up? Might One Direction be over for good next spring?!?
No, according to an Us Weekly insider who insists the artists just need a “summer rest.”
“That doesn't mean they're splitting up at all,” the source insists. “Even when Zayn was in the band, they had been speaking about having time to focus on personal projects. They're one of the hardest working groups around and totally deserve some time to themselves.
Zayn Malik, of course, left One Direction in March. He's about to embark on a solo career.
The Sun, which broke news of the hiatus, claims that Styles, will be pursuing solo recording career, along with a few acting roles
Horan may also work on a solo record, while Payne more interested in songwriting and DJing.
Then there's Tomlinson, who will soon to become a dad with friend Briana Jungwirth and who plans to get involved with a new reality TV series, Be in a Band, whose mission it will be to find a new all-girls group.
Vows this tabloid source:
"There WILL be another album after this one. I promise."
