Because we know you were sitting around looking for philosophical guidance, Jessa Duggar's husband Ben has advice for all the ladies out there.
Basically, that advice is BEWARE OF MEN.
Ben Seewald wrote on Instagram this weekend, along with an image of an unnamed man wining and dining a woman:
"Ladies ... watch out for dudes that want to date you, but have no intention whatsoever of any serious relationship."
"A lot of guys want to enjoy you and play with your heart and emotions with no commitment or responsibility on their part."
"They're thinking 'Why do I need to commit? I'm getting what I want'"
"'When I get tired of her I'll just move on to the next girl I can use.'"
"Just be careful girls. Don't give away your heart or your body to someone who isn't prepared to cherish you for the long haul."
Wow. It's a good thing we have Ben to tell us these things.
Our world? Rocked. Our perspective on life? Enlightened.
In fairness, we suppose it's nice that Mr. Seewald has no intention of taking advantage of women, and shows concern for others.
(Guy gets to see what's underneath the attire in this Jessa Duggar swimsuit photo ... no wonder he was a one-woman-man as a teen.)
On the flip side, of course, is the implication that Ben, in his infinite wisdom, knows every woman's truest wish and deepest desire.
That being to engage in a courtship full of side hugs until marriage at the earliest possible moment, then to produce many children.
Maybe we're overthinking this, but knowing the Duggars, it's hard not to interpret this as more than a genuine concern for women.
Instead, it reads like Ben is telling women what to do ... implying that they would be blessed to live the only life he approves of.
Are we unfair for thinking that reading between the lines of Ben's cautionary words lies an element of preachiness and judgment?
