Amy Duggar and Dillon King are engaged, but the 19 Kids and Counting star says she plans on saving herself for marriage ... most likely.
TLC canceled 19 Kids yesterday, putting something of a damper on the recent news that Jim Bob's niece and her boyfriend are engaged.
But reality shows come an go, and love is forever.
Amy has made headlines in the past for her deviations from the rest of the Duggar family on several of their ultra-conservative tenets.
Not only was Amy born out of wedlock, she wears makeup, dons bikinis and openly kisses her man, before marriage or engagement.
No side hugs and chaperones up in here.
Nevertheless, the 28-year-old aspiring singer says she is still waiting to walk down the aisle before jumping into bed with her longtime love.
“We’re going to wait for marriage,” Amy said. “I have made mistakes in the past, but ... I can tell you that is something we are waiting on.”
Will she stick to it? She admits “it’s hard.”
In other words, she's a human being and obviously conflicted with these weighty topics, but doing her best to do what she feels is right.
Unlike her fertile, married cousins Jill and Jessa Duggar, Amy says she will not be getting pregnant immediately after she ties the knot.
“I don’t plan on getting pregnant right after marriage,” she said. “I want to travel and enjoy not waking up in the middle of the night with a baby.”
Wherever life takes her, Amy says she's just excited to share it with King, who she hasn't stopped gushing about in the last few weeks.
“He loves the Lord, he makes me laugh uncontrollably, he’s loyal, he’s patient, he’s my best friend. Of course I said yes!!” Duggar told fans.
