Ever since the Supreme Court voted to legalize gay marriage around the country last Friday, a number of positive responses have gone viral.
But Clinton Brentwood Lee of Brentwood Photography takes the gay marriage cake.
As shared on Instagram, the Florida photographer says he lost a client over the weekend due to his views on this controversial issue.
She wrote to him and said:
"My fiancé and I support traditional marriage between a man and a woman and don’t want to our money going to places that supports otherwise [sic]."
Fair enough, Lee replied, good riddance.
But that's not all he said in response.
The photographer explained that he wouldn't want this woman as a client now anyway. We'll let Lee outline why:
"It’s not that because you have a different view from us, but it’s because, since you don’t like an support gay marriage, no one else should be able to have it.
"That’s like me not liking broccoli, and demanding that everyone else in the world should not have broccoli either! If you’re not in favor of gay marriage that’s fine, don’t marry a woman."
Lee went on to say he was taught “not to judge others,” so instead he’ll simply tell this individual his new plan for her retainer, which is legally his to keep:
"Because of this conversation, I have decided to donate your $1500 to GLAAD [the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation], a group created to help and support gay rights."
“Let me be the first to say: thank you very much for your donation and support for this great cause! I couldn’t have done it without your money."
This lost client may not have liked Lee's epic reply, but others on Facebook have officially Liked it over 58,000 times.
