In a bizarre turn of events, Nick Gordon is being sued the estate of Bobbi Kristina Brown, which accuses him stealing from and abusing her.
Only a few hours prior, Bobbi Kristina was moved to hospice care in an implicit signal that her family has given up hope of her recovering from her coma.
She was found face down and unconscious in the bathtub of her home last winter, and while she survived, she has never recovered brain function.
How she got there has long been a mystery, with many pointing fingers at her shady partner Gordon ... but not to the extent that this lawsuit does.
The legal claims, filed by her estate via its court-appointed conservator, allege that Bobbi Kristina was the victim of a nefarious plot by a criminal.
Gordon, court documents allege, secretly pilfered cash from her substantial inheritance, and physically abused her over the course of their relationship.
Bobbi Kristina's estate is seeking $40 million from Gordon, who it accuses of regularly transferring funds left to Krissie by the late Whitney Houston.
That includes a five-figure withdrawal AFTER the near-drowning.
The documents also say that an abusive Gordon "dragged her upstairs by her hair," and once punched her in the face, knocking out a front tooth.
Even more eerie? Bobbi Kristina supposedly intended to reveal this abuse to a friend, whom she had made plans to meet up with January 31.
That same morning, she was found in the tub by Max Lomas.
Her near-lifeless body revealed a swollen mouth and another tooth knocked out, the lawsuit claims, though it doesn't explicitly implicate her partner.
The implication is clear, however, and police have been investigating Nick Gordon, who has been less then cooperative, since the tragedy occurred.
The investigation, which is still ongoing but has not resulted in any criminal charges filed, was allegedly triggered by Brown's facial injuries.
Bedelia Hargrove, appointed in May by a judge as conservator over Bobbi Kristina's affairs, filed the bombshell accusations Wednesday.
