Corey Simms to Leah Messer: Start Being a MOM!

by at .

At this point in her career, Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer's battles with prescription drugs are as well documented as her turbulent romantic life.

Understandably, her ex-husband Corey Simms is concerned.

The father of Messer’s five-year-old daughters Ali and Aleeah confronts his former spouse about the rampant rumors on the new season on MTV.

The Teen Mom 2 trailer for this summer's all-new episodes (beginning July 9) hinted that Leah would be undergoing a stint at a treatment facility.

In footage from Season 6, Corey wants to get to the crux of Leah's issues, and he doesn't buy Messer's claims that drugs are a non-factor.

“Listen, can you look at me and Miranda in the eyes and tell us there is no drug problem?” Simms, flanked by current wife Miranda Patterson, says.

“There isn’t a drug problem,” she insists.

“I think I know that there’s a drug problem, and I think that you’re afraid to tell me,” he carefully and gently responds, but Messer fires back:

“No, I swear to God there’s not!”

During the tense meeting in an Elkview, W.V., pizza joint, Corey and Miranda also urge Messer to come clean about her recent parenting struggles.

“So you are owning up that you [aren't] the best person for your kids?” Miranda Patterson asks Messer, who claims that's why she's going to rehab.

“I’m not going to say that I was a bad mom. I deal with more than what you guys think I do at home,” Leah, who just divorced Jeremy Calvert, says.

Corey ends the conversation - which you can watch at the 29-minute mark after clicking the video above - by offering her this pointed advice:

“Start being a mom. How about that?”

Rough. But maybe necessary.
