Big Sean's love life has made quite a few headlines in the past year, but the rapper who aims to inspire says he can only look forward.
Between calling off his engagement to Naya Rivera and his breakup with Ariana Grande, he easily could've been derailed emotionally.
Instead, he seems to be on an even keel for the most part.
"Man, you know, I don't plan relationships," the rising star, 27, said on the red carpet at the 2015 BET Awards Sunday evening.
"They just happen. That's all it is. I'm just ... I'm just living it now ... You know, we just out here doing what we doin'. Feelin' it out."
He stressed, too, that you can learn something from every relationship, regardless of how, why, or when it ends. Sayeth Sean:
"There's no mistakes in life, though, there's only lessons."
Deep stuff from Sean, who first stepped out with Ariana at the MTV VMAs in August 2014, then went public at the 2015 Grammys.
Just a few months after that, though, it was all over.
Following their breakup, all sorts of rumors were flying that Justin Bieber groping Ariana Grande on stage had something to do with it.
Conversely, Grande's camp hinted that Sean rapping about Ari's p-ssy did not exactly endear him to the pint-sized princess of pop.
Ariana recently went on the offensive on Twitter about her love life - not with regard to Sean, but to those who refer to her as Big Sean's ex:
"I am tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man's past, present, or future PROPERTY/POSSESSION"
"I... do not. belong. to anyone. but myself. and neither do you."
"I have clearly not been having the boy questions in my interviews lately because I have SO. MUCH. MORE. to talk about."
"I'm currently making the best music I've ever made in my life, having the best time of my life on tour with some of the greatest people I've ever known."
"Working my ass off every single day. I'm saying this after literally 8 years of feeling like I constantly had to have a boy by my side."
"After being on my own now for a few months I am realizing that's just not the case... I have never felt more present, grounded, and satisfied."
"I've never laughed harder or had more fun or enjoyed my life more."
Well, that sums up her take on the situation thoroughly.
It's good to see that whatever happened between them, the celeb couple formerly known as Big Grande remains very upbeat in life.
