In the wake of the Josh Duggar molestation scandal, the Duggar family has rallied to protect its secrets and defend its interests.
But despite their best efforts, it seems unlikely that the 19 Kids and Counting clan will ever be able to return to business as usual.
Many of the documents connected to the allegations against Josh were destroyed by court order, but leaked police reports reveal some shocking details.
Details that may make it even more difficult to look at the Duggars the same way again - if that was even possible in a post-molestation world.
Specifically, according to Radar Online, the report describes ways in which parents of 19 Michelle and Jim Bob physically disciplined their children.
According to a report from the Springdale (Ark.) Police Department, the investigator in charge of Josh's case inquired about the couple's parenting.
One of the Duggar children (not named by the report, as he or she was a minor at the time) was asked if they were spanked by their parents.
The child said yes, and when asked "what they use to spank," the unidentified Duggar family member replied, "They have a rod."
Many have speculated that the Duggars - who interpret the Bible in strictly literal fashion - use the weapon in accordance with this well-known proverb:
"Spare the rod, spoil the child."
It's unlikely that further details from the investigation will be released, as the Duggars took action to have Josh's files sealed almost immediately.
After the claims against Josh went public, he issued a statement apologizing for his actions and resigned from the Family Research Council.
At the moment, it's unknown if TLC will continue to produce new episodes of the reality show that made the now-embattled Duggars famous.
For now, the network has pulled 19 Kids and Counting from its schedule.
Jim Bob and Michelle, who issued their own statement on Josh, have yet to publicly respond to the child abuse allegations against them.
