The greatest video in the history of the Internet was never supposed to actually hit the Internet.
According to a feature story in the latest issue of Vogue UK, the online release of Kate Upton's Cat Daddy dance created a riff between Upton and photographer Terry Richardson.
Richardson “found himself on the receiving end of [Upton’s] wrath in May 2012,” the article reads, because “he uploaded his now infamous video” without the blonde bombshell’s permission.
Yes, the INSANELY HOT video racked up millions of YouTube hits... but the Vogue piece goes on to say that "Upton was horrified [at the time] because the behind-the-scenes video had been filmed for fun, not something she expected would make the final cut."
But it did. And it helped shoot Upton straight into the celebrity stratosphere, leading to her destiny as the Hottest Woman Alive.
Still, back then, Upton made sure to let Richardson know that she wasn't happy with what he did.
"I was like, 'That was disrespectful, you could have told me!'" she tells Vogue, clarifying that now everything is "fine" between her and the famous photographer.
And Kate Upton bikini photos continue to be just fine with millions of men around the world as well.
We're glad this issue is settled. We're glad the Cat Daddy dance went viral. We're glad we'll be wasting the rest of the day drooling over these Kate Upton pics:
