The pregnant Kate Middleton's hospital security has been beefed up after the expectant royal has been threatened by terrorists and stalkers, according to reports.
While it's not entirely clear when Kate Middleton's due date is, the Duchess of Cambridge is due to give birth any now and the threats are pouring in.
Why? Because people are insane, and such a high-profile event tends to attract such individuals. Fortunately, Kate is 100 percent safe and will stay that way.
A former head of royal protection says that large life milestones, such as weddings and births, tend to increase the chances of an incident or attack.
By searching for signs of premeditated plans, officials hope such incidents can be prevented, and that's what we see happening in the UK this week.
Security teams have been sweeping the hospital and working with police to ensure the safety of the royal family, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry.
Reports say Kate has around 220 known stalkers that are "considered to be threats" to the safety of the royal family, though it's not clear how serious.
Officers and security have been utilizing every resource they can to identify threats, including scouring the web and looking for signs of harmful intentions.
Even obvious pranks, such as the radio station pretending to be The Queen searching for an update on Kate’s condition, will be taken very seriously.
During the birth of Prince George in July 2013, members of the media were allowed to secure spots outside of St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington in advance.
However, for the delivery of Kate and Prince William’s second child, the press is not allowed to set up outside the hospital until The Duchess is admitted.
Two other hospitals are also ready to welcome Kate when she goes into labor, a change of royal baby delivery plans likely made with security in mind.
Concerns of pregnancy complications arose with the news of the other hospitals being prepared, but it could simply be a matter of logistics or security.
Not knowing where she's going to be is a great way to keep nefarious adversaries at bay, along with limiting media and public access until the very end.
For now, all we can do is await the birth of George's brother or sister, place last minute bets on the gender or name (girl, Alice) and wish Kate the best!
