Ever since Kelly Osbourne quit Fashion Police last month, new rumors about her potential replacement have surfaced daily.

Despite the many viable candidates who have tossed their hats into the ring, however, the one name that seems to be mentioned more than any other is Khloe Kardashian’s.

Reports of Khloe joining Fashion Police began to pop up even before Osbourne announced her departure, and now the middle Kardashian sister is the front-runner for a spot on the controversial panel show.

It makes sense that Khloe would land the gig – she’s a self-taught fashionista with a likable camera presence and a long-standing relationship with the E! network.

Before she can start delivering snarky commentary on the latest red carpet fashions, however, Khloe will need to convince producer Melissa Rivers that she’s worthy of the job, which may be a tough task, considering Melissa’s mom was no fan Khloe’s clan.

The feud between Joan Rivers and Kim Kardashian dates back to the early days of Kim’s fame, and sources connected to the show say that even though Joan passed last year, her ill will toward Kim might prevent Khloe from landing her dream job.

“Joan would turn in her grave is Khloe got the position,” says one insider, adding that Melissa and host Kathy Griffin “know that Khloe would bring in ratings,” but are still opposed to her getting the job.

“Kathy and Melissa are mortified by the thought of Khloe being on Fashion Police. One of their biggest concerns, really, is that they will not be able to bash the Kardashian clan with her sitting right there.”

Fortunately, Griffin and Rivers have plenty of options.

Osbourne’s vacated position has unexpectedly become one of the most sought-after jobs on TV with stars such as Chrissy Teigen and Amber Rose reportedly vying for the spot.
