Jim Bob Duggar had one piece of advice for his daughter Jessa and her now-husband Ben Seewald as they prepared to get married last November.
Can you guess what this pearl of paternal wisdom was?
If you watch 19 Kids and Counting online, you know quoting from the Bible is standard operating procedure for Jim Bob. Last night was no exception.
The family patriarch told Jessa and Ben to “be fruitful and multiply.” Interestingly, this comes on the heels of rumors that Jessa Duggar is pregnant.
Photo "evidence" above has certainly sparked a lot of speculation, and the duo has been married 5-6 months at this point. For Duggars, that's an eternity.
Unless Jessa is secretly on birth control (which has also been rumored), it stands to reason that she'll be with child before long. It's a fertile family.
Devoutly conservative Jim Bob telling Jessa and Ben to follow in his and wife Michelle’s fornicating footsteps isn't as unlikely as you might think, either.
While sex before marriage (heck, even full frontal HUGS before marriage) is strictly prohibited in their family, once those vows are officially swapped?
Bodily fluids can and should be exchanged freely from that moment on!
Jim Bob cut to the chase fast on 19 Kids and Counting Season 15 Episode 9, telling Jessa's soon-to-be spouse, “Ben, you’re a fine young man."
"Starting Saturday when you get married: be fruitful and multiply.”
It's unclear how he feels about Jessa and Ben's plans to adopt, which they're adamant about, but JBD does not mince words when it comes to procreation.
“We look forward to their future family,” Jim Bob added later.
Michelle also weighed in on her expectations for their future marriage, telling the cameras Jessa had better get busy ... in bed and being domestic.
"As the Lord blesses them with children, Jessa would really desire to be at home with kids ... so the majority of the cooking will probably be on her shoulders.”
Jessa's response? “I’ve gotta work on some of these skills."
Hey, we can't all become perfect partners all at once.
