With news that Bobbi Kristina Brown may be taken off of life support as early as this weekend, her maternal grandmother - 81-year-old Cissy Houston - has made the trip from her home in New Jersey to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta in order to say goodbye.
It is not clear why Cissy has waited until now to make the trip, but several news outlets have pointed out that Cissy and Bobbi Kristina have not always seen eye-to-eye.
Cissy once referred to the relationship between Bobbi Kristina and Nick Gordon as "incest."
Shortly thereafter, Cissy wrote a book about Whitney Houston that Bobbi openly criticized. Bobbi encouraged the public to boycott the biography of her mother due to what she described as outright lies.
It is not known if the two women were able to patch up their relationship in recent years, but Cissy is said to be devastated by Bobbi's condition, especially since the circumstances are so eerily similar to the fashion in which Whitney met her end.
If Bobbi is indeed removed from life support this weekend, Cissy will play a key role in settling the dispute over her inheritance.
Family members are already fighting over Bobbi Kristina's $20 million fortune and in the event of her death, most of that money will reportedly be Cissy's, to do with as she sees fit.
Sadly, the tragic end of this young woman's life could result in a bitter conflict amongst the family members that she'll leave behind.
