According to a number of sources, the situation looks very bleak for Bobbi Kristina Brown.
The only child of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was found by her husband and a friend on Saturday morning, her body face down in a bathtub, unresponsive.
Paramedics rushed to the scene, executed life-saving measures and took Bobbi Kristina to the hospital.
Although she is now breathing, however, insiders tell TMZ that her brain function has been “significantly diminished.” She remains on a respirator.
Doctors have informed Brown’s family members that she may never recover.
"Everyone is holding hands, praying, hoping for the best. Everyone knows where things are at,” a relative told People over the weekend.
Soon after Bobbi Kristina was admitted to the hospital, authorities searched her Georgia home and did not find any drugs inside the residence.
She has a history of substance abuse, but those close to the troubled young woman have said she recently turned her life around and has been clean for awhile.
The reason behind this tragic incident remains unclear at the moment, though some believe husband Nick Gordon will shoulder a lot of the blame in the eyes of critics if the worst really happens to Brown.
Bobbi Kristina's famous father, meanwhile, has issued a statement in light of this scary situation.
"Privacy is requested in this matter," Bobby Brown said. "Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time."
Brown has flown to Georgia and is by his daughter's time.
Nearly three years ago - on February 11, 2012 - Bobbi Kristina's iconic mother, Whitney Houston, was found dead in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills Hotel room.
