That's it! It's over! We can stop all American Idol auditions now!
Because Season 14 has already found its winner.
On last night's San Francisco-base episode, the judges welcomed 16-year-old Maddy Hudson to the makeshift stage… and pretty much crowned her this year’s eventual champion.
After impressing Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. with her personality, style and affection for her mother, Hudson truly blew them away with a rendition of Beyonce’s “Resentment.”
"I love everything that’s on the outside, but I really love what it’s covering up. And I heard and felt every bit of it," Urban said in response to the audition, while Connick added simply:
“You have all of the ingredients to really be a superstar."
The panel then joked with Hudson and told her to go out and send all the other contestants home.
After she exited (with a golden ticket, of course), Lopez gushed to her fellow juges: "I think she can win…. If she doesn’t go down in flames, she’s gonna win."
That may be a very big IF, but still. We're watching you, Maddy Hudson! Good luck.
