Taylor Swift basically owned the music industry this year, so it wasn't terribly surprising when she was announced as one of Barbara Walters' Most Interesting People of 2014.
It's a little surprising that Walters is still doing the annual brown-nosing special, but that's a different story.
Anyway, Taylor turned 25 over the weekend, she scored the year's only platinum-selling album, and it's looking more and more like she's planning several decades of chart dominance.
So what keeps Tay-Tay grounded amidst all the unfathomable awesomeness of her life? Reading about your day on Instagram, of course:
As you may have heard, Taylor hosted 1989 listening parties for her fans prior to the album's release.
Understandably confused by the idea of the world's biggest musician inviting her most rabid fans into her home, Barbara was all like, "Gurl, WTF is wrong with you?" to which Taylor offered a surprisingly heartfelt response:
Speaking of her relationship with her fans Taylor said, "I want to come up with as many ways that we can spend time together and bond, because it keeps me normal. It keeps my life feeling manageable."
"That's why when I go online and I go on Instagram, and I see a post from Emma who lives in Philadelphia, and she's talking about how her day was at school that day, that helps me."
"It's the only thing that keeps me not feeling overwhelmed by the abnormality of my life."
