The Duggar family celebrates babies like no other ... as long as they're not the result of premarital sex. In which case, that mom goes on the blacklist.
Just ask Susanna Keller, the 22-year-old sister of Anna Duggar.
The once beloved younger sister of Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna, Susanna never fully embraced the 19 Kids and Counting family’s fundamentalist Christian beliefs.
The final straw came, though, when Keller got pregnant.
She gave birth to a baby girl out of wedlock in 2013, and decided not to marry her daughter’s father, which is clearly on list of things banned by the Duggar family.
As a result, the woman once was considered worthy enough to act as Anna and Josh’s courting chaperone before they tied the knot was shunned altogether.
Susannah appeared on 19 Kids (then 17 Kids) while Josh and Anna (pictured above) were in courtship mode, so she was once held in high esteem. No more.
Patriarch Jim Bob Duggar felt that "Keller's slide into sin" warranted cutting off all contact and striking even the mention of Susanna's name from the family’s show.
Says an insider over the decision to cut ties:
“It would be bad for the Duggar brand. She broke away from everything his family represents, so viewers shouldn’t expect any televised trips to visit this in-law.”
As viewers who watch 19 Kids and Counting online know, we just witnessed Josh and Anna visit her pregnant sister in Chicago for a gender reveal party, too.
That episode also featured Josh's maligned sister Jana Duggar edited out of all footage, but that's a quasi-Duggar scandal for another time, readers.
Clearly, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have their standards for how they feel life should be lived and how their family should be portrayed, and strictly enforce them.
That that means shunning an in-law, then so be it.
Don’t expect to see anything so distasteful happen to one of the Duggars’ own, either, adds the source: “[Jim Bob] has his radar up for any hint of rebellion.”
In other words, watch out Jana and Jinger Duggar.
