One of many faces in a crowd 1,000 strong, Kirk Cameron attended the wedding of Jessa Duggar and fiance Ben Seewald last weekend in Arkansas.
The Growing Pains actor, 44, posted a picture with the now-newlyweds Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald to his official Facebook page on Monday.
“Duggar Wedding Couple!” he captioned it.
Cameron, who was an atheist until he became a born-again, fundamentalist Christian at age 17, was invited to the rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding.
“We flew to the Duggar hometown, not only to be part of the fun and excitement of honoring this precious couple," Kirk said, but as a teachable moment.
"As a father, I want my daughters to see what it looks like when a couple reserves their ‘first kiss’ for at the altar," the father of six said of Jessa and Ben.
“Wow! This kind of moral excellence and purity is rare today, but our sons and daughters are priceless. This dad has only a few years to etch these meaningful images on the minds of his children.”
Mother of the bride Michelle Duggar was shocked that the first kiss in question took place in private, but Kirk's point remains the same: Ben and Jessa waited for marriage.
While Jessa and Ben's engagement aired last night on 19 Kids and Counting Season 14 Episode 15, we'll have to wait awhile for the big wedding installment.
Kirk says the TLC stars made their guests swear not to divulge the details of the ceremony, but Kirk did spill a little bit on what went on after the wedding:
“We were invited to the Duggars house after for volleyball, campfire singing, and dessert till 1:30 am. We even got to worship together at church the next morning."
"Be sure to watch the wedding episode of 19 and Counting on TLC!” Cameron added, clearly feeling a kinship with the large, Christian community.
Again, it'll be awhile before we get to that point, but you can watch 19 Kids and Counting online to catch up on past episodes of the hit show at any time.
