On 19 Kids and Counting Season 14 Episode 9, the second installment of TLC show Tuesday night, the family geared up for Jill's wedding in a number of ways.
When you've got 19 kids, you have a lot of tasks, but also a lot of warm bodies to help with them. Of course, that assumes they can offer actual help.
After Jill Duggar and company shopped for a vintage wedding dress and bridesmaids' dresses, 19 Kids and Counting Season 14 Episode 9 kept at it.
This time, they needed shoes to complete their modest, but beautiful ensembles.
“Jill’s been a really good bride,” Jill’s sister Jana Duggar, who was selected as the Maid of Honor for her wedding to Derick Dillard, said of the non-Bridezilla.
“Yeah, she has like what she wants, and she just kind of does it, and it works out,” added another one of Jill's sisters and bridesmaids, Joy-Anna Duggar.
Jinger Duggar (that's just cheating when you start using hyphens and misspelling words, BTW) lends a hand with photography, taking snaps of Derick and Jill.
The couple looked adorable and absolutely love struck, as they always tend to.
While the second installment, like 19 Kids and Counting Season 14 Episode 8 before it, focused on Jill's nuptials, the other kids were on hand as well.
On hand and under scrutiny, as it turned out, and not just with home remodeling.
Asked whether there are ladies in their lives, John-David Duggar, 24, who's Jana's twin, and Joseph Garrett Duggar, 19, look to be on the market.
“There’s absolutely no ladies in my life right now,” John-David told TLC cameras.
Hopefully that will change, as it can quickly in Duggar Land. Just ask Jill and Derick, or Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald. Those kids waste little time!
But for the moment, the task at hand was carpeting Jill and Derick’s new home.
“Whenever our family does a project, a lot of the times I’ll bring in an expert and get them to teach us part of their trade,” Jim Bob Duggar says.
“We can all learn together and maybe next time we’ll be able to do part of it ourselves, or all of it ourselves," he adds of this money-saving strategy.
“Looks like you got a lot of help here,” says the contractor, and he ain't kidding!
The older kids feel that sometimes, the younger kids get in the way of getting the job done right, not that it would have helped this poor performance.
Of course, it's all about planning for the future, and you have to learn somehow!
“It’s been, uh, good,” the contractor said of the carpet-laying job that was stretched from one to a possible five-hour endeavor. “It’s been fun.”
Fun might be his way of putting it politely, but a good lesson was learned by all.
