Mere hours after learning that Kate Middleton is pregnant for the second time, UK oddsmakers are already taking wagers on all things Royal Baby #2.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared their happy news earlier today. They're expecting their second child early next year, though it's unclear when.
Not unlike Kate's first pregnancy, her morning sickness is bad enough that she's sought medical treatment, and likely broke the news earlier than she'd like.
Having missed an official commitment today due to her condition, Kate and William revealed their exciting baby news rather than fuel the obligatory rumors.
Beyond the fact that Kate Middleton is pregnant, we know few details. That's not stopping fans from guessing - and betting - on just about all of them.
From the child's sex to his or her prospective name, wagers are pouring in, with bettors believing that young Prince George is getting a little brother.
"Baby Brother" is currently edging "Baby Sister" by a close margin (4:5 to even).
James (Kate's brother's name) is the early favorite for a first name at 6:1; Arthur, Elizabeth (Kate's middle name) and Victoria are close behind at 8:1.
The current odds are 20:1 for twins and 100:1 for triplets, FYI. We would take that action over the just-released Ray Rice playing in the NFL this year.
"The Royal Baby betting frenzy is back in full swing," says Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes, a firm that actually takes these absurd wagers in the UK.
With one correct gamble already in the bag, she says, "punters are reinvesting their winnings on the couple having a second son called James."
Boy or girl, you can count on the two to pick a classic name, and to produce a real cutie. The first one came out great, as you can see in the gallery above.
Congratulations again to the happy couple, and the entire royal family!
