Phil Spector is showing the toll prison life and 73 years of life in general are taking in two new mug shots of the music legend turned convicted murder.
The most recent picture (left) shows a bald, somber-looking Spector staring straight into the camera. This image was taken of Spector last October.
He is a happier, though no more healthy looking, in a photo from last July.
The California Department of Corrections says the October picture was taken when he was moved to the California Heath Care Facility in Stockton.
The facility provides medical and mental health care to the sickest inmates, including those with chronic conditions. The state won't comment on Spector's health.
Phil is doing 19 years to life for the 2003 death of actress Lana Clarkson.
The legendary music producer revolutionized rock music with his "Wall of Sound" before decades of bizarre behavior culminated in a murder conviction.
He claimed he was innocent and his defense team argued that Clarkson, despondent over a fading acting career, took her own life at his mansion.
The music guru known for blending beautiful vocal harmony with lavish orchestral arrangements to produce pop hits did not go to prison until 2009.
His first trial ended in a hung jury, while a second one found Phil Spector guilty of second-degree murder in 2009, six years after Clarkson's death.
By then, he had married his much-younger wife, Rachelle, who was at his side throughout and continues to live at the mansion and visits him in prison.
