19 Kids and Counting Season 8 Episode 2 Recap: Duggars, Daughters & Dates

by at .  Updated at .

On 19 Kids and Counting Season 8 Episode 2 and 3, the Duggar daughters' dating lives were examined. Or to use the proper terminology, their courting lives.

One of the Duggar family dating/courting rules is that couples be chaperoned, which means Jessa's siblings tag along on dates with her and Ben Seewald.

We saw the downside of this on 19 Kids and Counting Season 8 Episode 2, and not merely because the kids will prevent any possible making out.

When they take his truck, there's not even a third seat! That's a tight squeeze, but you'll never forget the chaperone is there this way ... so mission accomplished?

It's not just Jessa and Ben, either. Before Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are married, they have to deal with this too. Even when her brother gets carsick!

Back to Ben and Jessa, they decided to go to a shooting range, where he was shown up by his date. That Jessa Duggar gun photo wasn't just for show!

Jessa says Ben just let her win because he's that kind of sweet guy. Chaperone/brother Jason believes that his sister was simply the better shooter.

There's probably some measure of truth to both theories there.

On Derick and Jill’s date, they had a picnic, where her little brother James nit picked about the dietary options. Gotta love these adorable chaperones!

On 19 Kids and Counting Season 8 Episode 3, we focused on Jill and Derick's wedding, with the two checking out a country club for the venue.

Being the frugal sort - they've got 18 other kids, lest we forget - the Duggars are not exactly country club types. In a good way. At the same time?

They need a place that can even HOLD the Duggars and extended family and friends. So basically 1,000 invitations at the absolute minimum.

That does narrow things down in terms of options.

It may have been scripted, but Michelle decided to show the daughter where she and Jim Bob Duggar got married and later renewed their vows.

Cross Church in Springdale, Ark., is a huge place that can hold up to 1,500 people. Not to mention it's renovated and beautiful. Add in the sentimental value?

That sealed the deal for Jill, who came to love it just as Michelle had. The matriarch said the wedding would bring back a flood of emotions, and we don't doubt it.

Just imagine when the actual ceremony comes around. As always, you can watch 19 Kids and Counting online to see both of Tuesday's episodes in full!
