Aviva Drescher didn't join the rest of the ladies on The Real Housewives of New York City Season 6 Episode 9 last night, but producers cooked up a story about her sitting out the proceedings due to a prior commitment.
Eagle-eyed viewers, however, noticed that Aviva was missing from the episode's opening credits sequence, leading to speculation that Drescher had been quietly dropped from the show.
Turns out the truth is somewhere in between these two explanations, as Aviva is being disciplined by producers with a forced three-episode hiatus from RHONY.
A source close to the show says Aviva was "fired for three episodes" following her refusal to join the rest of the ladies on the Berkshires trip.
The refusal was not, apparently, the result of diva-like behavior on Aviva's part, but rather stemmed from genuine health and safety concerns.
Aviva has a prosthetic leg and has been diagnosed with asthma, and she was reportedly concerned she would suffer some sort of illness or injury.
While attempting to keep up with the rest of the Housewives mentally is challenging enough, her physical limitations gave her considerable pause here.
The insider says Aviva will return to the cast full time following her three-episode suspension, which will include one more outdoorsy trip for the rest of the ladies.
And, likely, at least one more drink thrown in someone's face by Ramona.
