Adam Lambert has performed with current Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor on many occasions, dating back to the 2009 American Idol finale.
So fans around the country have been waiting for the following announcement: the trio is going on tour together!
"This happened organically with Adam," May said this morning at a press conference. "People are going to ask whether it's Queen without [late singer Freddie Mercury]. I don't know. We just want to go out there one more time. Adam isn't an imitator. We're going into new territory."
Way back in 2009, it was rumored that Lambert would actually join this iconic rock band full-time.
This never materialized, of course, but fans will be able to pretend like it did throughout 19 nights this summer.
"Adam is the most incredible frontman," says Taylor. "He's a great diva, and I mean that in the best possible way. We need that theatrically."
