It’s amazing but true: Halle Berry is pregnant.
The Oscar winner has confirmed the surprising news in an interview with CNN’s Alina Cho, telling the reporter that she feels “fantastic” and that a baby was most definitely not part of her plan with Olivier Martinez.
“This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth,” Berry said. “Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”
Berry did not confirm that the child will be a boy, as previous reports have claimed, but she did assure fans that she and the child are “healthy.”
The gorgeous star works closely with the United Nations World Food Program to fight hunger and added that this pregnancy serves as a reminder of how many females around the world struggle with nutrition.
“It’s so important what happens to the baby while they’re in utero. And the first 1,000 days is fundamental,” said Berry over the weekend. “Good nutrition during that time period is fundamental for your baby to develop properly and normally.”
