Allan Arbus of MASH fame has died at the age of 95.
His role as the wise, dryly humorous psychiatrist of shell-shocked surgeons on the hit show was so convincing, people long believed he had experience in the field.
Now that’s what we call acting, people.

Alan Alda, who played Capt. “Hawkeye” Pierce, said in an interview Tuesday, “He was so authentic in the role it was hard to believe that he wasn’t that person.”
Arbus, a film, stage and TV actor for over 50 years, died at his home in Los Angeles. The cause was complications of congestive heart failure, said his daughter.
