On the cover of Maxim last month, Kellie Pickler lent her body to a very important cause: the U.S. military.
Now, the former American Idol singer has offered up her head for another one: breast cancer, specifically good friend Summer Holt Miller, who was diagnosed with in June, has undergone a double mastectomy and starts chemotherapy tomorrow.”
“Cancer does not discriminate,” says Pickler in a statement on her Facebook page, while Miller adds: “If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it.”
