Russell Simmons is calling for a boycott of Lowe's after the company pulled their ads for the new TLC Show, All American Muslim.
He quickly bought up the available ad space, and tweeted the following: "Just purchased remaining spots for #allamericanmuslim for next week. The show is sold out! Keep your money @lowes and we will keep ours."
All American Muslim is a reality series that follows the daily lives of five Lebanese-American families in Dearborn, Michigan, which is the largest Muslim community in the United States. Lowes pulled their ads after criticism and protests from the Florida Family Association.
Simmons called their actions, "bigoted, shameful, and un-American." In addition to his willingness to buy up even more ad space for the new show, he's urging other companies to step up to the plate with a petition on Twitter.
All American Muslim premiered on TLC on November 13th, 2011. The show emphasizes how the families' faith influences the everyday lives.
