The Gangster Squad stars Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn and looks terrific. But it ran into controversy in July 2012 when Warner Bros. pulled the trailer from theaters after the Aurora, CO shooting.

I believe that guy already has psychological problems and just chose that time & place to act on what he was feeling. It basically could have happened anywhere.

I saw the original trailer before Savages, which came out weeks before it was shown before The Dark Knight Rises. I'm not sure we'll ever know what truly motivated that guy, since he's not talking. It was truly terrible. For those that want to see the original version of Gangster Squad, maybe they'll release it in deleted scenes or a directors cut when its released on dvd.

They have now changed the release date so WB can reshoot parts to get rid of the scene from the movie too. I am glad they are showing such sensitivity.
