The Gangster Squad stars Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn and looks terrific. But it ran into controversy in July 2012 when Warner Bros. pulled the trailer from theaters after the Aurora, CO shooting.

I believe that guy already has psychological problems
and just chose that time & place to act on what he was feeling.
It basically could have happened anywhere.

I saw the original trailer before Savages, which came out weeks before it was shown before The Dark Knight Rises. I'm not sure we'll ever know what truly motivated that guy, since he's not talking. It was truly terrible. For those that want to see the original version of Gangster Squad, maybe they'll release it in deleted scenes or a directors cut when its released on dvd.

@dickface and anyone else that thinks people who commented are dumbasses you are the real ones why comment--why even read these comments if you are bored with your fucking life?

Avatar

@Speck you are such an irogant asshole nobody asked you 'dumbass' is that the best you can do all the tuck you had to do was act like a fucking human being and kindly correct someone rudeness isn't needed we have enough of that in the world already.

They have now changed the release date so WB can reshoot parts to get rid of the scene from the movie too. I am glad they are showing such sensitivity.

They are also removing the scene from the film "Johnny dangerously", when Joe piscopo's character tried to shoot Johnny's brother through the screen while he's watching a movie.
Hell, might as well.
When will this country stop overreacting at every incident?

The guy in Aurora was probably just there to enjoy the movie like everybody else, until he saw this trailer and it gave him the idea. It's the only theory that makes total sense.

When is Hollywood gonaa take some of the blame?

I already saw the Untouchables.

I don't know why people enjoy watching movies with senseless violence. Cops killing bad guys is different, but getting enjoyment out of innocent people dieing is fucking weird. I know it's a movie but there are some sick fucks out there that come up with this shit. and even sicker fucktards that go and see it. This movie would of been just fine without that theater scene, but since the shooting in Col. it doesn't seem morally right to have it. All that hard work to make that film, and that one scene ruins it...It's a flop for me:/
