"this act was clearly a representation of the girl's parents being negligent in her life". It's difficult to believe that ignorance of this magnitude exists in the year 2013. A young girl goes to a party, drinks too much and becomes defenseless, and then gets violated by predators while cowardly fools watch and make jokes . . . and you assign blame to the girl's parents? Yes, getting that drunk was a very bad decision on the girl's part but it doesn't even remotely justify what happened next. Just when I thought that reading internet comments couldn't be any more revolting, someone posts something like this. Eat sh*t and die, Cro-Magnon.

http://www.underthegunreview.net/2013/03/18/henry-rollins-comments-on-steubenville-rape-verdict/ Read this above^^ The best argument I have read about this case come from none other than Punk Rock legend Henry Rollins. Those guys may be facing 5 years in juvey and being called a sex offender, sounds a lot better than living the rest of your life with depression, anxiety, hatred of yourself, no self-worth, the list goes on and on. I have friends who are victims of rape and to this day are still struggling to leave the house because "they deserved it". Time for us men to grow the fuck up and start seeing women/girls as our equals and not some piece of meat to pass around among friends.

Voice of the Players, have you considered even for a second that the decline of society is due to the LACK of ACCOUNTABILITY? Seriously? You are saying that individuals that are nearly 18 years of age should not be held accountable for their actions? It is one thing to screw up in high school, make poor grades, not have your priorities in order, cheat on a boyfriend/girlfriend, gossip, etc. THIS? This is a crime. This is a crime that is punishable as an adult OR a juvenile. Are you saying that they are stupid and therefore shouldn't be responsible for an act that had an impact on someone else OTHER THAN THEMSELVES? Sorry for the caps. Trying to accentuate text to help you understand what you are saying. This girl may never be able to have a normal relationship with anyone. Trust is breached. Damage, DONE. Years ago, boys his age were working and starting families. They had responsibilities and were held accountable. Moral decline. You're either part of the solution or you're part of the problem.
