Penn is right. The Tea Party is racist on its face. Don't get me wrong, not everyone who espouses Tea Party ideals is necessarily racist. But the idea of the poor American colonists throwing away tea, because of high taxes, and a monopoly imposed on them by a foreign king? How does anyone not see the comparison as racist? Not to mention the things that both extemes have said. Some 99 percenters also deserve criticism for equally hateful language and signage they've used. At least for them, their label doesn't have racist overtones.
