All the newspapers are afraid to really report on Gov. Palin's prank call. When Bush mangled or forgot the names of heads of state it was news. When Vice President Quayle misspelled 'potatoe' at his elementary school visit, it was valid news.
Despite that prank calls are sleazy, none of the major papers is reporting that Gov. Palin implies that she knows the Canadian Prime Minister (well, yeah, he's doing fine and...") when she hears him referred to as 'Steph Carse'. Or knows of him well enough to give an update on how he is doing. This is like Prime Minister Harper of Canada not knowing that Bush is the president of the United States.
If Bush's problems with names of heads of state are news, why not Palin's? Or actually report on her attempt to appear like she well knows a head of state whom she so eloquently doesn't. Maybe it isn't necessary, since Gov. Palin has since said that she is glad "to be in the ranks of heads of state like Sarkozy who have been pranked..." Gee, she made it to head of state without even being elected!
