Mykki Blanco has made a major admission on Facebook.

In a very personal Facebook posting on Friday, the rapper/poet/performance artist revealed that he’s been living with HIV for the past four years.

"Ive been HIV Positive since 2011, my entire career," Blanco wrote, adding:

"f-ck stigma and hiding in the dark, this is my real life. I’m healthy I’ve toured the world 3 times but ive been living in the dark, its time to actually be as punk as i say I am."

Why has Blanco now come clean?

"I’m healthy, I’ve toured the world 3 times but I’ve been living in the dark," he wrote. "It’s time to actually be as punk as I say I am.

"No more living a lie. HAPPY PRIDE."

Blanco (real name: Michael Quattlebaum Jr.) has been a staunch proponent of LGBTQ rights in the past. His most recent mixtape was titled "Gay Dog Food."
