Seen better, seen worst on SNL. NIce voice, pretty face, great bod. The audience reacted well. The song may have been a tad too long, but it was OK. Much ado about nothing. "A slow news day so lets attack someone". Grow up!
Tell me who has been worse on SNL than this. I'd rather see Ashley Simpson disgrace herself with lip-sinking than this horror. Anyone who does not see how grossly stilted and out of tune she goes throughout the whole thing, isn't paying attention.
actually alot Better than a lot of the bullshit "stars" crap out these days... i like it...she`s gonna be bigger than most one day ;D
Critics essentially suck, that's a given. Del Rey pulls the performance off. I don't see what all the chatter is about unless there's more to the story then has been reported.
Don't know her or her song-the song is weak, the performance is pretty amateurish and the singing minimal (so compared to her peers she's probably a genius). My question is "Wasn't there someone directing this?" A song like this probably should have been shot more in closeups- not full body shots. Got to wonder if they weren't trying to make her look bad- maybe she gave them a hard time in rehearsal (there was a rehearsal, I assume).
The song sucks, but her performance of the song is very appropriate. To cancel a tour because of bad press for 1 performance shows that her publisist does not understand that ANY press is GOOD press. On a seperate note, ever since iTunes became the sponser of the musical act on SNL, most of the performances have been by acts I have never heard of. And most of them suck. This last weeks act was terrible! Call me old fashion, but when you are on SNL, you have ALREADY made it. SNL should not be a stage for upcoming acts such as Lana. Lorne, if you are reading this; take back control of your show.
What kind of performance where you douches expecting? Here performance absolutely fits the song and she sounds great. Are you forgetting how many SNL 'live' acts are lip synching (Ashley Simpson?). She sounds great.
i thought she sounded ethereal, lovely. her performance was intent, delicate and restrained, if a bit nervous. no problems for me, i am new fan of hers now, at least she wasn't lip syncing. true emotions aren't perfect, and sometimes neither is singing, when it's from the heart. shame on everyone bashing her, i think some just have old fashioned idea of what "talent" is. they want cookie cutter.
I have seen way worse on SNL. I hadn't heard of her until the spoof and youtubed her SNL preformance. I actually expected much worse. I believe she was "stiff" due to her dress. If she would've moved too much, she would've tripped over it. Also, her voice had good range. Most people do not understand how hard a live preformance is and how many technical parts there are to make an already gorgeous voice stay gorgeous over a mike. She was okay. And I do not care for this type of music but I applaud her. And I also applaud Kristin Wigg's skit...very funny
She was great I think her awkward performance went with her style of music. Plus I downloaded both of these songs after this, she something different and I like it!
