I had never heard of the chick, but I watched this on SNL, and I turned to my husband and said, "Is this a joke?" I thought she was a new SNL player doing a skit, and then there would be a "real" performer later. Her hair looked like a drag queen wig. The way she moved was so odd, and her voice, while not the worst ever, was just
so mediocre. I was stunned that she really was the performer for the night. Hell, if she can get an SNL gig, get me on there. I am a great shower singer!
The performance was not bad at all. I am watching it now on tv, and initially I thought i'd hate it, and wanted to, but other then being stiff, which is intentional, she sounds great. I really liked it. Cute too.
I like her voice and sound- I disagree with the critics as well as the majority. Does anyone remember Ashley Simpson's performance? That was pretty garage-bandy terribleness.
