It’s a question that has plagued mankind for years:
Is Fergie hot… or not?
The jury remains very much out on this topic, as folks around the Internet continue to debate the attractiveness of this long-time pop singer.
But now a new question regarding Fergie has gone viral, although it’s one that may have a more definitive answer:
Did Fergie just provide us with the worst rendition of the national anthem in U.S. history?
The artist took to center court in Los Angeles at the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night, drawing attention before she even sang a note.
For what reason? Just look at the revealing ensemble Fergie decided to go with in order to honor her country.
This became even more notable once the national anthem got underway and it became clear that Fergie was intent on sexing up the famous single.
Big time.
"I’ve seen the national anthem performed hundreds of times but never in the key of “Happy Birthday Mr. President” congrats," wrote one Twitter user, commenting on the way in which Fergie seemed to be seducing the crowd.
Or attempting to, at least.
It was impossible not to notice that the players themselves were entertained (in a negative sense) by this performance, while also just being confused.
"Not sure what Fergie was going for on that national anthem performance but if it was “my friends drunk mom acting sexy” she nailed it," wrote another viewer on Twitter.
Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green looked especially perplexed by whatever Fergie was trying to accomplish in front of him, as many on social media made a point to mention.
“It was different,” TNT analysis Charles Barkley said on air afterward. “I needed a cigarette after that.”
