Getting to CHOOSE to be a stay at home mom is a blessing but often comes with much sacrifice on the woman's part. No one talks about the sacrifice but it is indeed a selfless act. Putting aside pride, ambition, and economic status to raise healthy, well adjusted human beings with your own values is probably the best and hardest thing an adult can do. It is also one of the best contributions to a healthy society a person can make. Unfortunately, way too many people do not get to make this choice. Often single parents are the only source of income for the household or one spouse is not able to make enough money to sustain the family. We need an economy where ONE income is enough to sustain a family above the poverty line. Show me the jobs, people!
