The 81st annual Academy Awards will have a decidely Zanessa-like feel to them.

It's just been announced that Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will perform at this Sunday's big event!

The High School Musical couple will hit the stage alongside host Hugh Jackman, Beyonce and actress Amanda Seyfried in a special song-and-dance routine.

This may be heresy to some, but Nolan Gerard Funk is setting his sights high.

The young actor is being promoted as the next Zac Efron. He'll star in next week's Nickelodeon original movie Spectacular!

Will High School Musical fans jump aboard the bandwagon of this new franchise, now that Efron and company have moved on? Funk, a Vancouver native that is fluent in French and filmed a music video last year alongside Miranda Cosgrove, leads the film's cast. He plays Nikko.

Spectacular! premieres on Monday night, February 16.

On that date, the actor kicks off his post-High School Musical career with the comedy 17 Again.

The movie centers on a guy (Matthew Perry) that turns back time and is transported back to being 17... again. Think of it like Big in reverse.

Efron leads an impressive cast that includes: Leslie Mann, Michelle Trachtenberg, Melora Hardin (The Office), Hunter Parrish (Weeds) and Adam Gregory (90210).

Instead, it was the chaos created by Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, as the couple touched down in Japan for that country's premiere of High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

Months after High School Musical 3 premiered in America, stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens touched down in Tokyo to promote the film.

Upon landing, the couple known as "Zanessa" was greeted by a throng of supporters.

"I've never seen anything like it," said a onlooker. "Their fans were screaming and some were crying because they were so happy to see them."
