According to a new report, Ray J absolutely lost it the day Whitney Houston died of a drug overdose.

Because he was distraught over the passing of his girlfriend at the time? Of course. But also because he allegedly overheard at least one police officer make disparaging remarks about the late singer.

Ray J on the Red Carpet

TMZ sources confirm that Ray J was standing outside the room when he heard laughter and some kind of rude comment, a story that jibes with someone else close to Houston complaining that an emergency responder was "talking trash" about her inside the suite.

We have an update on the passing of Whitney Houston.

A week after the official coroner's report listed this singer's cause of death as being a heart attack, likely related to cocaine use, it's now been confirmed that the drug was, indeed, discovered in Whitney's hotel room at the time her body was found.

Whitney Houston ABC Interview

Initial reports had been sketchy on this fact, with rumors circulating that cocaine may have been present in Houston's system - but no traces of the substances were anywhere near the bathtub in which she drowned.

Allegations of someone tampering with the evidence even ran wild.

But now sources connected to the investigation tell TMZ that "white, powdery remnants" were taken into custody and later identified as cocaine.

Does this put the tragedy to rest? Sadly, probably not. Accusations of who supplied Whitney with her drugs of choice will continue for the foreseeable future. Ray J has already been forced to come out and defend himself against this charge.

There is no evidence that any foul play was at work in the death of Whitney Houston.

But that did not stop Nancy Grace from speculating about whether someone played a role in her passing, and a new report claims it isn't stopping unidentified callers from pressing the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office from opening up a murder investigation.

Whitney on Stage

Sources tell TMZ that several individuals - alleging to be relatives of either Houston or Bobby Brown - have contacted the office under the belief that the artist was murdered. One even claimed to possess evidence that proved this theory, while another blamed a fellow relative for the homicide.

There's been no verification of identities and still no proof exists that points to anything but an overdose on pain medication and alcohol. The official cause of death will be determined when toxicology results are in.

Oops! Target's bad!

The company has issued a statement and taken steps to rectify an embarrassing situation that stems from a greeting card (below) that's been sitting on its shelves for the past few months and which reads:

Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston.

Whitney Houston Card

"The card was in our stores prior to Ms. Houston’s death. As soon as this was brought to our attention, we began the process of removing the card from all applicable stores," the chain told TMZ in response to the controversy.

Somewhere, Bobby Brown is stewing that this card even exists - and then thinking of a way to profit himself off it.

Is this the right move? Should Target take away the cards?

The family of Whitney Houston is reacting to The National Enquirer posting a photo of that singer's corpse as you might expect: with outrage and heartbreak.

TMZ cites sources who say Whitney's mother, Cissy, is especially distraught over the tabloid actually taking this measure, but there are no plans to open any kind of investigation into the source of this photo, which the newspaper has the nerve to refer to as "beautiful."

Meanwhile, Carolyn Whigham, owner of the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, tells The Daily News that neither she nor her staff had anything to do with the image or its leak.

"We did not take that photo. We did not sell the photo. We would never do something like that," she said to the newspaper. "Whitney was a friend. I’m the one who flew to Los Angeles and got Whitney from the coroner’s office. I did everything to protect her.”

The National Enquirer has an extraordinarily warped sense of beauty.

With every media outlet and Twitter account holder in shock and disgust over that tabloid publishing a photo of Whitney Houston in her casket, courtesy of last Saturday's funeral in New Jersey, the tabloid's publisher, Mary Beth Wright, spoke to Fox News yesterday and actually said:

“I thought it was beautiful."

This isn't the first time the National Enquirer has invoked such controversy and outrage. In 1977, the newspaper published an image Elvis Presley in his coffin, and it also ran a a photograph of John Lennon following his death in 1980.

What do you think of its decision to post a shot of Whitney's corpse?

The National Enquirer refuses to let Whitney Houston rest in peace.

The latest issue of this notorious tabloids screams "WHITNEY: THE LAST PHOTO!" and purports to depict a picture of the late singer in her casket.

It was allegedly taken inside Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday and shows a woman wearing a dark dress, with "Nippy" (Houston's nickname), along with two treble clefs, written in blue script on the lining of the casket cover.

The image - we blurred it out above - has invoked outrage across the Internet, with Sarah Anne Hughes of The Washington Post referring to it as "shocking and disturbing."

A similar uproar took place in July 2009 when a British tabloid covered an issue with a photo of a dying Michael Jackson being wheeled out on a stretcher.

What do you think of the Enquirer publishing this picture?

Whitney Houston will officially rest in peace this Saturday afternoon in New Jersey, as her loved ones gather for a funeral in Newark and millions gather around their computer to watch a live stream.

But the circumstances surrounding this ceremony have been anything but peaceful.

As Houston's family continues to battle with Bobby Brown over whether or not the singer will attend, Governor Chris Christie has been forced to address his state's decision to honor the artist by flying all government flags at half-staff.

Chris Christie-Whitney Houston

“What I would say to everybody is there but for the grace of God go I,” Christie said in response to complaints that New Jersey is turning a drug addict into a role model.

Other objections to the move emanate from those who believe this sort of memorial should be reserved for members of the military, first responders and elected officials.

“I am disturbed by people who believe that because her ultimate demise - and we don’t know what is the cause of her death yet - but because of her history of substance abuse that somehow she’s forfeited the good things that she did in her life,” said the governor during a briefing in northern New Jersey. “I just reject that on a human level.”

The funeral raises two questions, both of which we ask of readers below:

SHOULD FLAGS BE FLOWN AT HALF-STAFF?

SHOULD THE FUNERAL BE STREAMED ONLINE?

Whitney Houston has checked into rehab.

Interestingly, it's an out-patient rehabilitation program, it's NOT for drugs or alcohol and Houston has already been in the program for 10 days or so.

Derek Lowe Mug Shot

The program allows Houston to go out in public as long as she has a monitor. Last weekend, Whitney was enjoying herself at a Prince concert in L.A.

Her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was right by her side. So what gives? It's unclear why Houston is in treatment but sources say it's not for drugs.

"She's cleansing herself to get ready for a new movie," a source tells TMZ.

Whether anyone believes that is another story, but we hope she gets well.

UPDATE: In an about face, a rep for Whitney says the singer IS receiving treatment for drugs and alcohol as part of her "long-standing" recovery.

Houston admitted problems with substance abuse in the past, but the demons resurfaced, says a friend: "She was plastered and she was a mess."

According to the March 14 issue of The National Enquirer, Bobbi Kristina Brown is taking after the troublesome habits of her parents.

That tabloid has printed multiple photos of the 18-year old allegedly snorting a white substance, along with quotes from an ex-boyfriend who says: “Krissi is addicted to cocaine. I’ve tried to stop her, but all she said was, ‘I’m just like my mother!’"

Houston has reportedly battled drug problems for years. Her weight has dropped significantly and her concerts have been a disaster.

Bobbi Kristina Brown

“Krissi has grown up seeing both her parents high on a regular basis," this former lover claims. “Whitney needs to see what her daughter is doing to herself. If Krissi doesn’t stop soon, this addiction to cocaine will kill her!”

In 2008, Bobbi Kristina was admitted to a psychiatric ward after she attempted to stab her mother. She then turned the blade on herself and tried to slit her own wrists.

In response to this tabloid story, Bobbi has Tweeted: The pictures_ a former very dear person to me did this. Set me up to make it look exactly what it looks like. God will smite them yes..But it's really not what it looks like.. People will do anything for money which is extremely sad, and I'm very hurt by this.
